Robert ‘Bob’ Fullem

Founder and Owner

50 years and still riding. Great memories: touring England with my Peugeot PX10 and riding throughout Southern Albany County and beyond on my full Campy chrome Frejus and road and track Paramounts; a 24-hour time-trial near Syracuse; touring the San Juan Islands and many camping trips through Vermont, the Finger Lakes and elsewhere with Marilyn or Don, Charlie and Steve; riding a tandem to Cooperstown and at many tandem rallies. Now it’s a Trek Emonda, and a folding Brompton for travel. And the life-long thrill continues.

Andrew Felch

General Manager

From riding BMX bikes as a kid to commuting around Brooklyn on a hybrid, falling in love with a steel road bike and getting lost in the woods on a Trek hardtail, I’ve always loved bikes. Equal parts exercise, meditation, and play, riding has helped me in so many ways. Now I am Trek Factory Certified technician. As a Capital Region native, I am honored to be a part of The Downtube’s Legacy. I believe that creating a welcoming space and offering great customer service is the best way to increase ridership and spread my love of cycling, to help people and help the world!

Becky Puritz

Fitter and Salesperson

I started my career in bicycles here at the Downtube 10 years ago and have recently returned! I earned my BG Fit certification in January 2015, and since then I’ve also been certified in GURU Fit, Conte’s Level 1 and Level 2 under Retul Master Fitter Chris Duffy, and Retul Fit Level 1. I am proud to have helped over a thousand riders over my 6 years as a professional fitter in the Washington DC region. Having grown up in Oneonta and as a SUNY Albany alum, I’m so excited to return to the Downtube and the beautiful trails and scenery of Upstate NY!

Mechanic

I’ve been taking things apart and getting my hands greasy since I was 10. I still do both of those things, but now I get paid for it.
